Located on the southeast corner of Second Avenue in Yorkville with 230 apartment units, the Waterford Condominium was designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and Vinjay Kale, and developed by Robert Gladstone and Nilin Joshi in 1987.

In their book The A.I.A. Guide to New York City, Third Edition,” (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1988), Elliot Willensky and Norval White wrote: “Like the Irish crystal for which it is named, this is a particularly elegant piece of craftsmanship. The 48-story tower stands out (for now) from the surrounding urban fabric of this once not very fashionable area.”

In front of the building, an attractive three-step-up landscaping plaza with nice flower beds, birch trees, chairs, and public arts allows people to stop by and have some joyful rest. A triangular glass entrance canopy and a high rise lobby fully covered with green granite welcomes the residents and their guests.

The building has a team of service professionals including doormen, technicians, porters, and a live-in superintendent.

On the two top floors, there are modern equipped gym, a large ping pong room, spacious party room with kitchen, children’s playroom, two guest rooms available for rental up to 14 days, two public terraces, and the roof deck, all having fabulous city views.

The building consists of variety of the apartment units, studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, large units with more bedrooms, plus a gracious penthouse. Some apartments have beautiful balconies while others have bay windows full of light.

My family has been living in this luxury condominium building for over five years. We enjoy every moment here and are proud to be the Waterford residents.
